Despite lacking the “sexy” reputation of other Central American coffee-growing countries like Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala, Honduras has quietly become the bigger producer, exporting more volume than any other nation in the region. While the quantity of coffee produced is high, finding exceptional quality coffee can still be difficult. However, some producers are inspired to pursue micro-lot level coffees, such as Rojer Dominguez. He aims to produce high quality coffees with a focus on protecting and sustaining the natural wildlife that exists around his farm. This is our second year buying his Catuai variety, and we think he’s well on his way to changing the perception of Honduran coffee with this sweet and complex cup.
