In the past, coffees from Peru have often been viewed as mild and having their place as components of blends as seasonally available. However, in recent years there’s been a small group of producers in Peru who have been developing microlot-quality coffees. Jose Sanchez Campos is one of those producers, and owns the farm “El Romerillo” in La Palma, Peru. He grows Caturra variety under a cover of shade, and like many of his fellow members of the cooperative Lima Coffees, Jose holds organic certification for his farm. While adhering to a fairly traditional cultivation and processing method, an attention to detail gives his coffee elevated sweetness and vibrancy that you’ll taste in this cup.
