Indonesian coffees, and coffees from Sumatra in particular have a reputation for tasting somewhat earthy and even “dirty” due to how they’ve been traditionally processed in the past using a “wet-hulled” method, which can leave the coffee vulnerable to developing defects as it dries. This lot, however, was dried in the cherry on raised beds in a more controlled environment and exhibits clean, juicy and vibrant flavors we’ve never tasted in a coffee from Sumatra before.
